Sirius

I just got Sirius Satellite Radio two days ago and it's amazing. I can honestly say that I haven't listened to terrestrail radio for one second since I got it.

I'll admit it. The main reason I got Sirius was for Howard Stern. But there is so much more on it. There are commercial free, uncensored stations all over the place. There's the top 40 station, 50s music, 60s music, 70s, 80s and 90s. I've been getting into country a little lately, and they have four different country stations. One is for new country, one is for classic country, and outlaw country. oh yeah! And there are amazing hip hop stations too - new and old skool stations. I can definitely see Rare Heat getting played on one of those stations.

I hereby declare that I'm done with FM!

Kim Q's Message

Kim Q left me a message today. She was telling me about an open mic in Philly that she thinks we should check out.

I have not been calling Kim back lately, which I should definitely do. I don't know why I'm not calling her, or doing my part to push a lot of this stuff through.

I guess one part is that I have been writing a lot of acoustic songs lately. Another thing is I was supposed to mail Kim the lyrics and CD for a new song I wrote for us, and I haven't done that yet. I don't mean to be a flake, but sometimes I don't do the things I need to do.

One of the things I was trying to do was to go to the gym a lot during this winter break. I've definintely been able to do that. I've realized that the secret is to have a stocked gym bag. If you have one of those, its easy to just pick it up and go.

Where is Kim Q?

"Where is Kim Q " was the first reason why I started writing the Chronicles section on RareHeat.com I was looking for Kim, and her cell number wasn't working. It's funny how just losing cell phone contact can erase some people from your life.

I had not heard from Kim in two months. I just assumed I might not here from her again. Then one day I got a voicemail from her saying.

"Scott, I lost like two phones. I just stopped by your Dad's house, and he gave me your number." So all of the suddent, Kim was back in my life and now we're talking on the phone again.

We're trying to rehearse through the mail like that group Postal Service out on the west coast. We'll send CDs and lyrics back and forth.

It can work if you do it right. Sounds like a job for Rare Heat.

Zeif MIA?

I went MIA from putting entries into the Rare Heat Chronicles. There are a few reasons for this.

I've been really busy. I just started being a full time teacher at a high school in the Bronx. I really like it, but I am swamped with work there. Because of this, I've had a lot less time for Rare Heat these days. I have barely been able to even go to the site. I went today, and I was surprised to see two of my students from last year signed the guest book.

The way I had the journal entries designed on the Rare Heat site, it took a really long time to put an entry in. I would have to move and redesign everything on the page. So I've just decided to move all of the Rare Heat notes and put it into a nice neat little blog. One of the bad things is that I won't be able to be as creative with pictures. But I will have places on here to link to pictures.

All in all, this will be better, because I'll be able to tranmit important info quicker.

I hadn't seen Kim for a very long time, then I got a call from her. She said that she had just
